Portraits

This series is based on mug shots of women and girls who were arrested for various "crimes". Some were sex workers, others abused wives who were found to have an STD, or petty thieves sent to Oxford Prison. All are marginalized women and girls of the days gone by sourced from archival photos.

Materials: Acrylic, ink and artist's pen on polyethylene fibre paper.
